Hawk Host New Brand Frog Host

By the end of January 2009 Hawk Host will be launching them 2nd hosting brand. The second brand is Frog Host which naturally continues with Hawk Host animal name theme. Frog Host is a mass market hosting which has a much more expensive entry in comparison to Hawk Host. It’s an unlimited hosting brand but do not worry if you’re a Hawk Host customer or a prospective one nothing is going to change on the Hawk Host side. Frog Host will be using it’s own servers for web, dns and such.

Frog Host Say:

Frog Host is our unlimited hosting division competing with the likes of the largest shared hosting operations in the industry. We felt that it was not wise to offer such service under Hawk Host directly but to have a separate brand that specializes in unlimited hosting. Frog Host will be maintaining it’s own servers so this in no way affects current Hawk Host offerings. This includes it’s own brand new DNS cluster along with each web server. While many associate unlimited hosting with shady practices we never saw it this way. It’s always been a care free hosting service not much different from a hosting plan with space and bandwidth limits. With Hawk Host we have TB’s upon TB’s of excess space along with even more bandwidth in excess. So we have strong reason to believe even offering unlimited hosting nothing is going to change on that front. So the true limiting factor with most hosting services is CPU and memory usage as space and bandwidth but especially space can have nearly nothing used while using quite a bit of CPU.

Hawk Host Subversion Setting

How to set Hawk Host SVN ?
This post will tell to you.

- deleted the repo that I had created by command line
- from cpanel change my theme to RVSkin (this seems to be the only way to get the SVN/Trac manager option)
- go to SVN/Trac Manager and enable/install it
- a default repository is created, I added a sub repo called repo
- from my local machine i get a command prompt, go to the directory that i want in my repo and do this: svn import -m “initial commit” svn:///repo
- to checkout the code I can now do: svn co svn:///repo

My favourite webhost – Hawk Host

This post is from there

Hawk Host MrNorm said:

I haven’t been in the web development game long (about 2 years) but I have been with quite a few webhost in that time: 1&1, Servage, UK2 and now Hawkhost. All of the previous hosts have failed me in one way or the other, but UK2 and Servage were the most stressful. I had to have an argument with the CSRs every time I asked a question or asked for something to be done. Eventually, after a few battles I got what I needed to do done, but I shouldn’t have to, should I?

Anyway- After a week long feud with UK2 over PDO, I decided it’s time to go elsewhere. I stumbled across this forum on Hawk Host and I was sold by the amount of positive reviews from customers and the fact theres a toll-free support number on the website!

Since I’ve signed up (About 4 months ago), I’ve had nothing but great service from Hawk Host. The staff are always active on this forum and seem like nice people. When I needed SSH, they said OK and flicked on the switch. No birth certificates here! I have not had any downtime and given that I’m in the UK, the transfer speed is excellent!

Thanks to everyone over at Hawk Host! Keep this up and you’ve got a customer for life!
